LivED It: We Downloaded Bumble App Just To Show You How It All Looks

Liv’ED It is an ED original style where we write about our personal experiences on experiencing and reviewing any app/place/website which gives us a feeling of coming back for more.

This pandemic has definitely come uncalled, and now we are trailing our helpless souls to every known or unknown digital alley in the quest for some fun and an escape from twitchiness.

In a similar pursuit of some respite from uneasiness, I, very hopefully, sneaked into the digital equivalent of Doremon’s pocket, the Google Play Store and found an interesting app called Bumble (you can find it on the App Store on Apple devices).

So, after downloading the application, when you open it for the very first time, you are asked to sign in either with a cell phone number or your Facebook ID.

Suppose that you have signed in with your phone number, next you are asked to upload an obligatory picture for your profile. You can further add up to 6 photos. On proceeding further, you are asked to fill some more details about yourself to complete your profile.

Bumble does all these tasks itself if you opt to sign in with your Facebook ID (with the help of your photos and data available on Facebook).

Now, here comes the part of Bumble that makes it stand out amongst all other dating apps. At this point, you are given three options regarding your intentions behind connecting with people on this app.

So, quite interestingly, it not only lets you meet your prospective date but also helps you expand your friend circle through the bff mode, and connect with like-minded professionals through the bizz mode.

Just before you start exploring the Bumble world, your preference is asked for the gender of people you want to meet. You can change it later though.

Hereon, you see uncountable profiles of people from different spheres of life. Whichever profile attracts you to take things to the next level, you can swipe right on it and swipe left if you just want to pass it and move on.

Some Other Noteworthy Features

Once a man and a woman swipe right on each other on Bumble’s dating mode, it’s always the women who can make the first move. If she doesn’t initiate a conversation within 24 hours, the connection automatically expires.

“Bumble was designed to counter problematic and antiquated hetero dating norms,” That’s what I read on Bumble’s blog about this rule.

But the above-said rule does not apply to same-sex matches or the connections made in Bumble’s BFF mode. In these cases, either person has 24 hours to strike up a conversation.

You can also add more details about yourself with the help of some advanced filters available on Bumble.

The In-App Purchases

After exploring all the free stuff on Bumble, a point comes when you want to do something, but the app doesn’t allow you because that particular feature comes under the list of paid features offered by the app.

Paid features include going back to someone whom you swiped left previously, getting more filters to zoom in on exactly what you want, getting 24 hours more before the chat expires, gaining knowledge about the people who liked your profile, etc.

There are different packages available, and one can choose as per their choice.

If you use the app wisely, you can enjoy it thoroughly, and even the free features can serve your purpose of downloading the app. So, that was my first-hand experience on Bumble. Don’t forget to share yours.
