In Pics: What All Everyday Items Have Gone Up Due To Increased GST?

gst increase

The discussion around the revision in the Good and Services Tax (GST) for Indians has been going on for some time, but now the changes have been made and will be coming into effect from July 18th 2022, that is Monday.

The rates were finalised by the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at the 47th Council Meet in Chandigarh last month, but are going to be put into effect from now.

There is certainly going to be a marked increase in expense for the average folk while buying even everyday items. Things that didn’t have any GST applied to them will now have increased rates due to the tax applying to them too.

These new changes have removed a lot of items that were earlier exempted from the GST structure and as per FM Sitharaman, this and the increased GST rates are to cover up for the “inefficiencies” in the value chain.

Let us take a look at what all everyday items are going to increase in price and impact our daily life even more.

This is certainly going to make things quite difficult for especially people living on a budget since literally all of these things are for everyday consumption and bought as a monthly ration.

Given these new GST rates, it’s only going to increase the monthly budget by quite a bit. What do you think? Let us know your thoughts on the new GST rates in the comments below.
