The Chaugoshiya was a sartorial style of clothing worn by Hyderabadi Muslim women during their nikaah or wedding.

Fashion experts all over India are intrigued and excited about the dress Rekha wore to the much talked about ‘Sonam Ki Shaadi’. Many referred to it as a ‘pant saree’. It created quite a stir amongst designers and fashion journalists.

She coupled her love for silk Kanjeevaram sarees with traditional Hyderabadi attire called a Chaugoshiya or Khada Dupatta. According to fashion experts, some admired and understood the cultural touch of heritage to it while others couldn’t comprehend what the ensemble was.
