This week on Friendly Fridays we have someone who defines herself as an MTV India anchor, someone who’s less human and more being; a storyteller and a collector of ink.
Give it up for the Queen of MTV, VJ Bani!
We got a chance to have a small chat with her and got to know her better. Here are snippets of it for you:
Team ED: Three words that describe you the best?
Bani J: Honest, Real, Funny
Team ED: How many tattoos do you have? Which one is your favourite and why?
Bani J: I stopped counting how many tattoos I have once I crossed tattoo #18 LOL!
My favourite .. that’s hard since I am fond of pretty much all ofthem but it’ll be my most recent ones; there’s 4 of them, that start at my hip and go down the length of my calf.
Team ED: Roadies participant or Roadies host- pick one and why?
Bani J: I honestly don’t think I’d enjoy hosting Roadies as much if I hadn’t been a participant. It definitely helps to have been in the contestants’ position because then you – as a host- can better gauge what they’re going through and how to get them to express better.
Team ED: Who is your favourite co-VJ/host Rannvijay or Siddharth?
Bani J: I’ve co-hosted a tonne of shows with Rannvijay. He’s my long time mentor (from back in Roadies days) to an honest friend and confidant over the years, so yeah, it’d be him.
Team ED: What do you love about Chandigarh the most?
Bani J: Ah! I just got back from Chandigarh! I love everything about Chandigarh! It’s the perfect suburb – quiet, friendly,greatttt food, great amenities, gets all 4seasons.. I absolutely love that you can walk around and the fact that there is SO much greenery, there’s the lake to go for a run or walk. I just love it.
Team ED: What is the cheesiest pick up line that has been used on you?
Bani J: Haha, there have been so many! I think one of best from the earlier days was when I was sitting in a coffee shop with a friend – this guy walked over and asked me if he could pinch me, I just looked at him and asked him, ‘Why man?’. He said ‘Because I can’t believe you’re real!’ Hahaha!
Team ED: What was your favourite subject in school?
Bani J: English, Art and Computers. And US History. Lol!
Team ED: What is the craziest thing that you have ever done?
Bani J: There are so many crazy stories. The last crazy thing I did was perhaps.. travel to 5 cities in 3 days!!! Hahaha, it was absolutely nuts. So that and getting 4 tattoos in one weekend; that was a very painful week and a half.
Team ED: One little secret that no one knows about you?
Bani J: A secret… ok so I make my bed first thing in the morning as soon as I get out of it. Even if I’m staying in a hotel. #BoardingSchoolDiscipline
Team ED: What would one find in VJ Bani’s browser history?
Bani J: Don’t laugh, but a lot of Youtube ‘how to’ DIY pages, nutritional and workout websites, psychology and creative coursesand of course my favourite online stores.
Team ED: What is your comfort food?
Bani J: Protein Oats, blueberries and almond butter.
Team ED: One advice you would like to give to ED readers?
Bani J: Keep reading real books and magazines! I love to read. I try to get through 3 books a month :) My best wishes to you!
