Friendly Fridays Chapter 23: RJ & Actor Aparshakti Khurana

The weekend is here and so is another chapter of Friendly Fridays.

This week ED gets you up, close and friendly with super funny, spontaneous and one of the most popular RJs, Aparshakti Khurana.

We doubt he and his quirky jokes on radio need any introduction.

Check out Aparshakti do a small bit of RJing especially for us:

So apart from the jockeying for OYE 104.8 FM, Aparshakti keeps his hands full with tons of projects. He recently hosted a major dance reality show on DD, is acting in Saat Uchakke which casts Manoj Bajpayee, Kay Kay Menon, along with others, is working in another movie under the UTV banner, has his own food show on FoodFood channel and is being a full time real husband (the last bit being the most difficult we’re assuming) (*wink *wink). And just by the way, he’s a qualified lawyer too.

Have a look at his food show here:

So ED catches up with him in his studio to know him better.

Team ED: Hi Apar, Welcome to Friendly Fridays! 3 words that describe you the best…

Aparshakti Khurana: Curious, Assertive and Bizarre

Team ED: If you could be any one of them, which one would you be? Tattoo artist OR bartender OR marketing executive OR school teacher?

Aparshakti Khurana: A school teacher, as I’m already taking workshops for children with a couple of NGOs and it’s quite like food for soul.

Team ED: What is the best thing about your current profession?

Aparshakti Khurana: It keeps me close to music and gives me an opportunity to make people around me smile by playing their favourite songs.

Aparshakti has a very famous and peculiar laugh, how could we not insist on an exclusive ‘Ravan laughs’ video! Don’t miss it:

Team ED: Do you have plans of entering Bollywood full time?

Aparshakti Khurana: Full Time – no. Radio is my first love and that keeps me more than busy. I have done a couple of movies that are set to release this year, but I wish to stay in Delhi all my life.

Team ED: What would one usually find in your browser history?

Aparshakti Khurana: A.I.B Videos

Team ED: Tell us about any crazy fan story?

Aparshakti Khurana: For the past six months, someone texts me good morning and goodnight without fail, every day. That must be one crazy fan.

Team ED: What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?

Aparshakti Khurana: One thing [besides my wife] that makes me crazy is running. You can make me run and play at anytime of the day. I’m so crazy for it, that to run for the Chandigarh Marathon, I drove down all night from Delhi to Chandigarh. Reached at 5.30 am and without a wink of sleep ran an 11km Marathon!

Team ED: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever got?

Aparshakti Khurana: Never let success get to your head and failure to your heart.

Team ED: What’s the most boring part of your job?

Aparshakti Khurana: Are you kidding me? I talk all day, let my creative horses do the running and meet awesome people every day. My job isn’t boring at all!

And before we sign off, let us leave you with Aparshakti’s thoughts on Net Neutrality, the latest debate around us these days. He had something interesting to say. Here goes:

Till next week, adios!
