Eggs have been a valuable food since forever. We prefer to have Eggs as our breakfast because they are wholesome and filling. Not only eggs are the healthiest and cheapest option available but they’re also really really delicious.173 eggs are consumed by an average person per year. However, some people refrain from consuming this versatile food reason being it’s a cholesterol bomb. Yes, perhaps, its cholesterol content is very high and can shoot up the blood pressure real quick. But at the same time its benefits can’t be ignored.

Here are some valuable things to know about eggs before you make your diet chart.

  • Taking ghastly amounts of eggs is crippling for your heart. It’s actually the saturated fat that raises blood cholesterol. However, eggs are the single largest source of dietary cholesterol and thus very essential. Fill out your egg recipe with 2 egg whites and half yellow with all the veggies you love.

  • Egg yolks are nutrient dense. Ninety percent of the nutrients are found in the yolk, which in addition to cholesterol, contains calcium, iron, phosphorus, zinc, thiamine, vitamin B6, foliate, pantothenic acid, B12, the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, and E, and omega-3 fatty acids. Plus, you get lutein and zeaxanthin for better eye health and choline, which decreases inflammation and is essential for both brain and cardiovascular function. Also mom-to-be are always recommended with more than half an egg a day for fetal brain growth.

  • Cook your egg to destroy any possibility of salmonella poisoning. Salmonella is the leading cause of food-borne illness related death.

  • Also the breed of chicken determines the shell color. Brown eggs are not more nutritious than white eggs. The color of the yolk depends on what the chicken ate: Wheat and barley produce a light yolk, corn a medium yellow yolk and marigold petals, a deep yellow.

  • They’re cheap! So Sunday ho ya Monday, roz khao Anday!
