Crazy Comparisons: What Makes Nigel Farage And Ramsay Bolton So Similar?

Unusual Comparisons: An ED Original content style, where we take 2 very opposite and different items and show you, exactly how similar they might be.

Ramsay Bolton and Nigel Farage – 2 popular figures today who everyone just loves to hate. One is a bastard by birth, both of them are bastards due to their very nature. Needless to say, there are a few similarities between them.

Read on to find out more aspects of this crazy comparison!

Turncloaks:

Ramsay Bolton knew that being a bastard, he would need his father to get any form of legitimacy in the future. But after the birth of his baby brother, he was not afraid to kill him to stay in power.

Nigel Farage furthered his political ambitions by working for the Conservative party. But he left in 1992 to form the UK Independence Party who were the main supporters of Brexit. Now after Brexit, he has left his old party in turmoil, with PM David Cameron resigning and the new one having a tough task to keep the economy stable.

When their backs are against the wall, they love to reconsider their decisions:

Ramsay refused a one-on-one combat with Jon Snow, knowing his army was mightier. But when defeat was certain, he said he had changed his mind and will fight him alone.

Farage, similarly, first championed the Leave campaign. After the results came in, though, anticipating the repercussions of Brexit that he would have to face, he resigned as the head of his party.

They are experts at raising hopes just to quash them later:

All GoT fans will remember the episode when Ramsay set Theon free, just to capture him again. The mind games he played were distasteful, to say the least.

Nigel Farage (or should I say, The Leave Campaign) had emphasized on the membership fees they had to pay to stay in EU (350m pounds). If Britain exits – they said – the funds would go to their National Health Service.

Post Brexit, he was quick to point out that it was a mistake to promise that. End of discussion.

They imagine that they are invincible:

When Ramsay becomes Lord of Winterfell in season 6, we saw how he sent a letter to Castle Black, threatening Jon Snow with dire consequences. He also refused a one-on-one fight with him, looking assured that his army will definitely defeat Jon’s.

Similarly, in the real world, his victory seemed to be getting into Nigel Farage’s head. This was apparent in the way he gave his speech at the European Parliament, mocking everyone sitting there for having lost to him.

They love “toying around” with people:

Ramsay Bolton gave an expert tutorial to any budding torturer out there when he captured Theon and abused him physically and mentally. Nigel Farage, though, went one step further. He toyed with the sentiments of an entire nation!!

The result? Theon was not a man anymore. The UK is not united anymore (Scotland voted to remain in EU). I won’t be wrong if I say that both of them are impotent now.
