Watch: Can India Host The FIFA World Cup And What Should India Do?

The premier tournament of the world’s greatest sport, the 2018 FIFA World Cup is currently underway in Russia.

Fans from across the world from Brazil to Germany, Australia to Senegal are all set to sit before their TV sets to watch this great event day and night.

So it is with the millions of football fans here in India who are supporting very different teams over the tournament.

One of the reasons why Indian fans support such a myriad of different teams at the World Cup is because their own national team has failed to qualify for the World Cup for the past 60 years. 2018 has been no different.

Alas, this may not remain so. With the 2026 and the later World Cups to have at least 48 teams competing, there’s a good chance that India qualify for any of those World Cups.

However, there is another way of qualifying for a World Cup, one which does not involve continental play-offs and difficult qualification rounds. This way, is by hosting the FIFA World Cup itself?

Can India host the FIFA World Cup in the future? Of course, it can. It has already hosted the U-17 version of it in 2017. Should India host the FIFA World Cup? YES.

But, how does a country go about making a bid to host a World Cup? What should India have to do? Well, watch the video below to find out.
