The Bhartiya Janta Party is perhaps the biggest and the most dynamic political party in India presently. It has stood undefeated in several state elections and in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

It’s two foremost leaders: Amit Shah and Narendra Modi have successfully changed the perception of the public in places where it never belonged, places such as Assam and Bihar. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that it is the creme de la creme of political parties.

Hence, it brings us to the question: what makes them so successful and why can’t other parties adopt the same? Here is what all parties should learn from the BJP:

Started from the bottom, now they here

In the first-ever elections fought by BJP, in 1984, they won only two seats. Fast forward to 12 years later, a coalition government in the center.

They always stayed true to their ideology

It has been often said that the ideology followed by the BJP is based on Hindutva and anti-minority politics. But not once have they denied the claim or shrugged off their ideology. No matter how many votes they lost, there was never shifting away from that ideology.

The party takes proud in its hyper-nationalist and saffron outset.

Nobody contradicts nobody

Every politician or leader, small or smallest, have the same thing to say about an issue. Doesn’t matter whether the issue is National Anthem, Vande Mataram or Cow Slaughter, there is unity and common dialogue amongst the entire leadership.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi is seen contradicting his own mother every day.

They have a leader, and he is the GOD

The party members look towards Narendra Modi religiously. Next to Modi is the President, Amit Shah. All the marketing, publicity and actions taken by the party is ultimately projected as the will, wish and good work by Narendra Modi. Narendra Modi’s image was the leading cause of BJP winning the Lok Sabha elections and the subsequent state elections.

They market the good steps taken by them for development

What Congress fails to realize is that marketing works in magical ways. If a policy decision, no matter how infinitesimally small, is taken, it has to be publicised to attract maximum eyeballs.

BJP markets itself. It does not let the public forget the developmental works done by it. And it certainly does not let us forget that PM Modi has the guts to take bold steps.

An Opposition India can never forget

BJP, when in the opposition, did a remarkable job. They criticised the then government’s policies fiercely in a civil yet rigorous manner. The party was never dormant and stayed active even when the numbers were less. Carrying out bandhs, and protests were their key actions.

BJP indeed is the best choice we have and you know why!
