We live in a world of instant success and gratification and the footballing universe is a testament to it. Well, Claudio Ranieri was sacked in the subsequent season after leading Leicester City to the PL trophy which was the greatest sporting miracle ever. This was the most inhumane sacking of all time.

Here, I present to you some of the most unfair sackings of all times.

1. Manuel Pellegrini- Real Madrid

Manuel Pellegrini was unfairly sacked by Perez for finishing second to probably the greatest team of all time, despite notching up a then club-record 96 points in La Liga. He had signed Ronaldo and a number of high profile players like Benzema which remained the backbone of the team and has won several accolades.

2. Carlo Ancelotti- Chelsea

He can be considered the king when it comes to unfair sackings. He has been sacked even though he had massive success at Madrid and Chelsea. Roman Abramovich landed this man in 2009 and everything went inch perfect for the Italian, who led the Blues to the League and Cup double. After having finished the subsequent season without any trophy and losing to United in the Champions League quarter-final, Ancelotti was replaced.

3. Vicente Del Bosque- Real Madrid

Real Madrid is infamous for changing their manager more times than they change the tablecloths in the club’s canteen, but Del Bosque should feel more hard done by than most. Having won two La Liga titles, two Champions Leagues, a Spanish Supercup, a UEFA Supercup and the Intercontinental Cup while leading Madrid, it was a huge shocker when the club chose not to renew his contract in 2003.

4. Harry Redknapp- Spurs

Besides the recent spurge of Spurs under Pochettino, the only manager to break the top four barrier for Tottenham Hotspur was Harry Redknapp and had memorable outings against the Milan clubs in CL. He was ultimately sacked in the following season as Chelsea won the Champions League denying them a spot in the competition next season.

5. Roberto Di Matteo- Chelsea

This was absolutely unfair. He led Chelsea to their only CL trophy against all odds and was shown the door by Abramovic as soon as his side hit a remotely poor spell of form. Each and every one of us were awed by the way Chelsea performed against Barca and Bayern and has been re-watching those matches still. After Claudio Ranieri’s sacking, this has to be the worst of all.
