THE NEW ERA OF THE NOTE – SAMSUNG 2014

DO YOU NOTE?

I think most of us swear by it! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I am talking about the most awaited flagship smartphones launched by Samsung on 3rd September, 2014; namely the:

1. SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 4

2. SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE EDGE

Along with the both of these ground breaking phones, two more smart-devices were launched:

a. THE SAMSUNG S GEAR

b. And the first of its kind – the SAMSUNG GEAR VR

So, here are some of the must-know features of these launches:

Galaxy Note 4

Want to play Call of Duty on your phone, but are worried about the experience? Well, then the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is your guy! Priced at a whooping INR 55,000, brings with it some amazing features:

It is equipped with the Quad-HD (2K) Super-AMOLED curved display bandwagon offering 1440x2560p resolution on its 5.7-inch display (Size-does matter after all!)

Weighing 176 gram and have thickness of 8.5mm it will retain the faux leather back cover introduced with the Galaxy Note 3 (a slim-fit phone for slim-fit jeans) The Note 4 is to support LTE Category 6 band for the fastest internet access possible by far! (Aye Carrramba!!) So, now watch Victoria’s Secret Fashion show without a pause!

It is embedded with a far stronger gorilla glass and is available in four colours (oh, the joy of having the option of ‘ONE’ new shade *insert happy tears*): Charcoal black, frost white, bronze gold and blossom pink.

The new multi-window as well is taken a step further with the minimizing apps feature which makes switching through applications more manoeuvrable.

The S-Pen brings with it a higher degree of sensitivity which is said to have a pressure level of 2048 (you sneeze and your germs can use it…perhaps…)

This phablet is equipped with enhanced versions of old features as well, like your usual 16-megapixel camera; 16/32/64 GB inbuilt storage; expandable memory up to 128GB (yeah…that’s something we all need); the latest Android version – Kit Kat 4.4.3 and lastly a 64-bit processor and like its predecessors, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is likely to come with two processor variants: 2.5GHz quad-core processor (possibly the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805) variant and an octa-core (Exynos with 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 and four quad-core Cortex-A57 cores) variant (I know most of you didn’t understand this gibberish, but well, learn it and ATLEAST you’ll sound intelligent!)

Galaxy Note Edge

The basic features of this phone are the same as the Note 4; however, it’s a tad bit different. The right edge of the screen folds to cover the side of the device and enable unique interactions. So, it gives us a two sided screen. (Dual-vision!)   The folded side adds an extra 160 pixels so the resolution grows to 1,600 x 2,560, but it also makes the Galaxy Note Edge a bit wider than its straight-screened sibling.

Even when your phone (main-screen) is in sleep mode, you could just light up the edge in order to check any notifications, missed calls, etc. It also provides us with more screen space when we are watching a video or taking an image by displaying all key-buttons (pause, click, brightness, etc.) on the curved side.

It has a unique feature which also offers a scaling-measure. The edge comes with a Revolving UX which enables us to flip through features within seconds (for instance – half-asleep? Wanna check the time? Well! Just light up the edge screen and save battery!). Speaking of which, the battery, like in the Note 4, re-charges within 30 minutes and offers up to 7.5% more battery life (Where is more battery when we miserable students need it?!?).

In short, it’s edgy!

SAMSUNG Gear VR

The Gear VR offers a 360 degree virtual reality experience with a semi-translucent front cover which is removable, made to fit ‘only’ the Note 4, to which it will be tethered. It offers a unique gaming and visual experience which, once worn by the user, turns motion into picture in less than 20 milliseconds and he will view all his work as if standing 2 cm away from a 175 inch Super AMOLED TV!

Now, I won’t go into technicalities (which involve photons and aliens) but all in all, the sensor inside it is based on head-tracking inputs and you may work at an immense speed as if the mobile was attached to your head!

The SAMSUNG S Gear

The new and improved Gear S now gives you the ‘entire’ experience of your smartphone inclusive of all applications, 3G, own sim-card, etc. to avoid carrying your smartphone everywhere and make life a little less cumbersome. It fits perfectly onto our writs as it has a unique curved design in order to stay put and doesn’t need to be constantly paired with your mobile besides setting it up by syncing it with your Gear supporting Galaxy device (which mind you are over twenty!) or when updates are available.

It has a 2 inch curved Super AMOLED display by offering a full QWERTY keyboard with easily check sessions (just swipe  left and right to reach where you want to be!).

So, the crux of the matter is, that in a two hour event, unleashed on us such amazing devices that now, APPLE, you better watch out hon’, cause this fight ain’t over yet! Speaking of which, the world is now looking forward for SAMSUNG’s number one competitor, APPLE, to come up with the much hyper Iphone 6. Users are eager to see what is offers and probably only then will they decide between the Note 4 or The Iphone (which is scheduled to release on 9Th September).

So, my question is:

READY TO NOTE?
