Sign Here To Urge To The President To Protect Innocent Bulls In Jallikattu and Ban It

-

Dear people,

On 12 January 2016, the Supreme Court put a stay on the 7 January 2016 notification in The Gazette of India via which the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change was trying to permit cruel events like Jallikattu and bull races. This means events such as Jallikattu and bull races cannot be held for now, as the court deliberates on the matter. But now, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promulgate an ordinance to facilitate holding Jallikattu. Should the Centre agree to consider Jayalalithaa’s request, the ordinance could be passed any day now.

Video footage from Jallikattu events shows that terrified bulls are deliberately disoriented, chased, kicked, punched, jumped on, dragged to the ground and stabbed, and people even twist and bite their tails to agitate them. Numerous people, including spectators, have died or been seriously injured at Jallikattu events by bulls who were intentionally frightened as part of the “game”. During races, bulls are often hit with nail-studded sticks and pushed beyond the point of exhaustion. In bullfights, a round ends when one of the bulls either is killed or manages to flee.

In 2014, the Supreme Court passed a judgement in favour of PETA India and the Animal Welfare Board of India confirming a ban on Jallikattu, bullfights and bull races. Despite this, the government is now trying to permit cruel events like Jallikattu and bull races again.

You Can Help Bulls.

You can protect the innocent bulls by sending this letter to the President. Do your bit now.

Please urge the President to protect bulls TODAY and

unnamed

Yours Sincerely,

PETA India

ED completely supports this campaign and wants all its readers to kindly send this letter to the President to protect the bulls, for the sake of animal rights.
