If you’re a Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) aspirant this is the right place for you. Now that CET for all courses is done and the ranks are already out, the most important admission procedure i.e. GGSIPU Counselling process has begun.

The first step to participate in counselling for admission in GGSIPU is by paying the counselling fee of Rs. 1000 on the website and then registering with your details.

Next, the schedule given on the website for counselling rounds and specific CET centres is to be followed. It is advisable that you keep checking the website from time to time for new notices or circulars regarding the admission procedure.

How To Pay Counselling Fees?

Unlike DU, IPU has made counselling process online for most of the popular courses. All you need to do is go on the IPU website and click on “payment of counselling participation fee”.

Enter your details and select either of the offline or online methods to pay. One should then print out a copy of it for further proceedings. If you have paid offline via challan you’ll have to wait for 2 days to complete further procedure of counselling due to bank formalities.

Registration

After you have successfully paid for the counselling and printed the confirmation receipt, you have to register within the given period which was revised from 14th June-19th June 2018 to 16th June-20th June 2018 for GGSIPU counselling 2018.

To register, all you have to do is enter your CET, personal and academic details on the website. Once you have entered all the details, a login id and password will be issued to you. Do not forget or lose the id or the password.

This is the very account you’ll be dealing with to further participate in counselling. Also, don’t forget to print the registration form that you have filled for verification and other procedure.

Choice Filling

Next step is choice filling. After your registration is complete you need to fill choice of college in your account from the list of colleges available. This is basically preference filling and needs to be filled carefully.

Never fill just one college in your choices and expect that you’re going to get admission in it. It is always advisable to fill the maximum number to increase chances of admission in IPU.

Seat Allotment

After choice filling and completion of the waiting period, one can login to his/her account to know which college has been allotted to him/her. If you got the college of your choice, print the provisional allotment letter and pay Rs. 40,000 admission to confirm the allotted seat. You can now freeze your seat.

In case you aren’t happy with the seat allotment you can wait for subsequent rounds. But in order to participate in further rounds, you will still have to deposit Rs. 40,000 academic fee. Again, don’t forget to take print out of the receipt.

Verification

If you want to go with the seat allotted to you in the very first round and you have fixed it for you, you need to get to the designated verification centre allotted to you for your CET Code.

GGSIPU counselling process

Make sure you carry all the original documents as well as 2 copies when you go for documents verification. GGSIPU also releases a comprehensive list of all the documents necessary for verification. Follow the list and keep all the documents handy in the same order.

At the centre, you have to just wait for your turn and get your documents verified. After the verification is done you have to go to the college you have chosen and pay the leftover academic fee and voila your admission procedure is complete!

Wait For Further Rounds?

In case you wait for further rounds for an upgrade in seat, make sure you don’t miss out on important dates or instructions. This tends to happen a lot in IPU. Under all the confusion, people end up losing the pre-allotted seat and are left with nothing in the end.

If you do not have a good rank and you know that chances of upgradation are very less, don’t keep on waiting for further counselling rounds. Grab the seat when you have an option to.

Withdrawing Is Possible?

After you have deposited Rs. 40,000 academic fees and you want to withdraw, you have to click on the ‘withdraw‘ option available in your account. Once you click on it, you won’t be considered for seat allotment in further rounds and your amount will be refunded according to the University rules.

Other than this there are management, spot and sliding seats available too for which IPU HelpDesk is always available to guide.

Also, for Reserved and Special categories, the dates for document verification and registration period are different from General Category admission procedure. Therefore, GGSIPU website must be regularly accessed by candidates to know more about admission procedure.
