By Kritika Dagar

Are you tired of the city life and want to vacation on a remote island that too in the middle of the working week? Then you probably should. That’s better than trying to unwind by going on a shopping spree. A study says that spending on experiences brings us more happiness than spending on material things.

But you are right, even though everyone has island plans once in a while, it’s too farfetched. That’s why I bring you the best way to relax – the adrenaline rush, that too in our own urban jungle, Gurugram.

  1. iSkate, Ambience Mall

India’s first ice skating rink – iSkate is great for everybody, especially so in the sweltering summers of Delhi-NCR. There are marshals on the rink who help everybody, if you want individual attention or advanced training, that’s available too. But if you know roller skating, you are likely to hold up well. The ticket price is a reasonable 450 on weekdays and 600 on weekends.

  1. Go-Karting

Karting is a really fun thing to do with your group. Go Karting provides you with a thrilling racing experience, fun with friends at a very easy on the pocket price. Gurgaon has may Go Karting tracks. There’s 32nd Milestone. F9 Go- Karting also has a well-planned multi-level track, which you’ll enjoy driving on. Plus, it has a range of vehicles to choose from- Go karts, formula –k, bullet model and 160 cc engine.

  1. Paramotoring

Paramotoring lets you soar in the air without worrying about the uncertainty of terrain. It is the safest way to fly thousands of feet in the air and brings a kind of natural feeling to flying due to gradual ascent and more control on movements. The aerial view and the thrill of flying will surely be an experience of a lifetime. Flyboy Aero Sports offers paramotoring near Golf Course Extension road.

  1. Rock Climbing, Damdama lake rocks

Rock climbing in the outskirts of the city, in the granite cliffs of Aravalli hills offers both the adrenaline rush and the much needed physical test to your body. Damdama lake rocks offer one of the best rock-climbing experiences in India. Various agencies offer rock climbing there along with a basic workshop. Intermediate and advanced level routes are also available, if you are an experienced climber.

  1. Aravalli Biodiversity Park, MG Road

This park is any nature lover’s dream come true in the midst of the skyscrapers of the city. The park is home to many species of flora and fauna (none dangerous). Entry is free and the place is just right if you want a quite walk amidst nature’s serenity. You can also join various cycling or running groups.
