As a fan, I just want to see brilliant goals being scored all over the field. I have watched hundreds of videos of majestic and awe-inspiring goals being scored and these are my favorite of all of them.
1. Van Persie – Spain
Daley Blind produced the pass of the World Cup which Robin van Persie converted into a magnificent header to beat Iker Casillas and sent the Dutch army into celebration. Spain has still not been able to recover from that loss and the senior team is still waiting for another major trophy since that dreadful loss.
2. Solskjaer- Munich
“Beckham crosses from a corner and Sheringham knocks it down for Solskjaer to toe-poke it into the top corner of the net”. These words of the commentator still echo in each and every United fan’s ears. The Treble heaven dream for the Reds came true on that day when United snatched victory from the jaws of defeat from the German Champions.
3. Ronaldinho- England
Sol Campbell called it “fluky”, Sheringham said it was “mis-hit” and Beckham described it was “a cross that ended up being a goal”. But Ronaldinho was adamant that it was what he had planned.
It was indeed one of the greatest goals ever scored and Seaman can definitely consider himself unlucky.
4. Zidane- Bayern Leverkusen
Probably the best goal in the history of Champions League Finals. Zidane is one of the greats of the game and the volley he pulled off in Glasgow, which won Real Madrid the 2002 Champions League, was one of the best goals in the history of the game.
There have been comparisons between his goal and Mandzukic’s overhead kick on which is the better of the two. I personally prefer the Zidane one since Madrid went on to win the CL while Juventus were left licking the dust.

5. Rooney- City
Wayne Rooney has aptly described his pivotal overhead kick against Manchester City as his most important goal for United. Being a diehard United fan, it’s my favourite goal and I had to add it to this list. Ferguson has also called it as his favourite goal.
United went on to win the Premier League title that season which underlines the importance of this goal.
