India is about to see its 70th Independence Day tomorrow, the 15th of August, 2017. Our neighbours across the border are celebrating theirs today on the 14th of August. There will probably never be an end to the Indo-Pak diplomatic complication but Voxchord decided to do show a beautiful gesture.

Members of Voxchord, an Indian music band have released an A Capella version of Pakistan’s national anthem Pak Sarzamin.

The song starts with a message that reads:

“This is our way of wishing you, ‘Happy birthday Pakistan'”.

The anthem is mainly sung in the A Capella technique, giving heavy stress on the magnificent lyrics, which are predominantly in Urdu, thus producing a soul-stirring version of the anthem.

Such an endeavour by Voxchord has been met with great acclaim all over the internet which Facebook and the Twiterratti from across the borders going out of their way to shower applause on this wonderful, young band.

The Twitterrati in Pakistan have lauded the gesture of the Indian band in their posts:

No matter what the political relations might be like between the two countries, this beautiful gesture and the elated responses clearly reflect what the nationals of each of these two apparently ‘arch-enemy’ nations have always wanted.
