We Indians tend to believe that it a heinous activity that goes on in Africa and Islamic nations but our own country is free of it. Our government too thinks the same.

This might come as a huge shock to you but Female Genital Mutilation is a reality in India. Indian government has no data on FMG because on paper, they believe that India is free of FMG.

Strict measures need to be taken to prevent the spread of this act and to provide its victims with necessary relief.
