A letter

online-privacy-anonymity-e1290400743160 “As I look outside my window, I find myself staring at the people outside. A mother tending to her son, her love, pure and holy.   A gang of children playing football.  Some youngsters, leisurely, sitting and talking.   I stare at myself. I stare at the person society used to perceive me as. They say I’ve changed. I’m not as I was. I’m not like the people outside my window. But why?   Can’t my mother still tend to me and love me?   Can’t I play football with other kids?   Can’t I just sit around and chit chat with friends?   I can but you won’t let me.   I want to but you stop me.   Just because I’m gay? Does my sexual preference disturb you so much that you declare me illegal?   The society, as it is, is against me. The obstacles you’ve put in are like pits on a narrow road. Why are you doing this? Your “so-called policies and laws” which supposedly help the people are just condescending. What have you done for me, I ask?  You created the “right to choose”, which says choose what you want, be it whatever. I choose this. Then why are you pushing me away? Our thoughts differ, our mentalities differ. But that does not make me wrong or you right. It JUST MAKES US DIFFERENT.   The Pope said, “If someone is gay and he searches for the Lord and has goodwill, who am I to judge?” Then he went on to criticise the gay “lobby” and said that said “homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered”. What do you mean by disordered, we ask you? Who gave you the right to decide what sane is and what isn’t. You are ripping off my identity, my life, my everything! The most horrific thing that you did was, first, when the High Court instilled, in people like us, a false hope of recognition. We came out of their cocoon, only to be pushed back again. NOW where do we go? With their identities revealed.   I ask you to let me live the way I want.   I ask for your consent to “exist”……….   (CAN’T REVEAL IDENTITY)
